My background is graduate in physical organic chemistry with 26 years experience from leadership roles in Medicinal Chemistry department. Experience ranging from drug discovery projects in the early phase to projects in clinical phase, covering diseases from cardiovascular, gastrointestinal , metabolic and central nervous system disease areas. I am inventor of several drug candidates reaching clinical development and one which reached the market (Clevidipine, Cleviprex). I have many years experience in evaluation of projects in the internal project portfolio and in-licensing of projects (due diligence).

My deep interest in chemistry and practical skill, I have used to build a scale-up laboratory, up to 100 liter scale, together with my colleagues. To deal with chemicals in such large quantities requires both deep knowledge and safety thinking to minimize risks. These experiences, I have used as lab-safety responsible in a laboratory with 240 employees.

In order to efficiently use resources in the research, cooperation with external labs is essential. I have been responsible for the procurement of chemicals and services through both quota and FTE-based contracts.
